The Gold Ribbon™ Campaign for Childhood Cancer Awareness was started in 1997 by Gigi Thorsen. She was inspired to launch this childhood cancer awareness campaign by the life of her daughter Kelsey. Adopt a family A child's cancer diagonsis has far reaching effects. Beyond the emotional impact and complete change in daily life, the financial impact can be devastating. In two parent households, one parent's full-time job is the care of the cancer child; the clinic visits, blood tests, hospital stays, etc.. For single parent households the same applies. It is estimated that for a family whose child is in treatment, their income is cut by 40%-60%, while their expenses increase by approximately by 30%. During the holidays this impact is magnified. Parents still want to provide a happy holiday for their sick child as well as his/her siblings. You can help! Adopt a family for the holidays. Have your office community organization or friends and family get together to adopt a family. This can include a Christmas tree, decorations, a holiday meal, and gifts for each family member. We will supply you with each family members wish list. You shop for the family, wrap and label their gifts, and return them to us. Candlelighters will make sure your gifts are delivered to the family in time for the holiday.

Donate your car The Volunteers of American have a donation program that allows you to donate your unwanted vehicle to Candlelighters! They will collect your car, send you some simple forms to fill out, and take care of the rest of the legal paperwork. You will receive a receipt for your tax-deductible donation for your records. Buy a Beautiful Handcrafted Angel Pin and Support Candlelighters All at the Same Time! We are selling these wonderful custom made and designed pins to honor and/or memorialize your child or someone that you love. They make nice gifts for anyone who believes in angels!
